Festive Wear for Women

Festivals are a good time to step away from the everyday wardrobe and wear something with a little more colour, detail and character. But festive dressing doesn't always mean choosing a heavily embellished outfit. A printed kurta, an interesting silhouette or a beautifully detailed dupatta can be enough to make a look feel special.

Lakshita's festive wear for women collection brings together pieces that work for different celebrations and different ways of dressing. From traditional Indian silhouettes to contemporary sets, the collection makes it easy to put together an outfit that feels festive without looking overly styled.

Choose According To The Occasion

The outfit you wear to a daytime puja doesn't necessarily need the same treatment as something you're wearing to an evening celebration. Think about the setting before choosing your clothes.

• Family gatherings: Printed kurtas, light embroidery and coordinated sets work well for a relaxed yet dressed-up appearance.
• Festive lunches: Try a kurta with straight pants or palazzos and keep the accessories understated.
• Evening celebrations: Deeper colours, richer embroidery and statement jewellery can add more impact.
• Larger festive events: A detailed suit or complete festive outfit can make getting ready easier.

There is also the question of comfort. If you're going to be out for several hours, choose fabrics and fits that allow you to sit, walk and move around easily. Looking good is much more enjoyable when you're not constantly adjusting your clothes.

Festive Suits and Kurta Sets

When you want your outfit to come together without too much planning, a festive kurta set is an easy place to start. Since the pieces are designed to work together, you can focus on accessories rather than figuring out what to pair with the kurta. Festive suits for women offer a more traditional option. Depending on the design, you can wear one for a family function, a festive dinner or a special occasion. Keep the jewellery simple when the suit has detailed work, or use accessories to add interest to a more understated design. For a more flexible wardrobe, festive kurtis are worth considering. They can be worn with different bottoms and styled according to the occasion. A simple kurti can look casual with trousers, while a dupatta and statement earrings can take it in a more festive direction.

How to balance your outfit

Accessories don't have to compete with the outfit. In fact, choosing fewer pieces can often make the overall look feel more balanced.

A heavily embroidered kurta already has plenty of detail, so a pair of earrings and simple footwear may be enough. If you're wearing a plain or lightly printed outfit, that's when you can bring in something more noticeable.

Consider:

• Jewellery: Jhumkas, chandbalis, bangles or a delicate necklace
• Footwear: Juttis, embellished flats or simple heels
• Dupattas: Use a contrasting shade to add colour to a plain outfit
• Bags: A small potli or structured handbag can finish the look

The same outfit can feel completely different depending on these finishing touches.

Festive Dressing for Different Ages

Festive shopping often means looking beyond your own wardrobe. If you're buying for a daughter, niece or younger family member, a festival dress for girl can be a cheerful choice for family celebrations.

For younger children, it is worth keeping a few practical things in mind:

• Choose comfortable fabrics that aren't too heavy.
• Avoid details that could make movement difficult.
• Pick easy-to-wear silhouettes for longer celebrations.
• Let colour and print bring in the festive element.

For adults, the options can be broader. A festival dress can work for someone who prefers a more Western-inspired silhouette, while a kurta or suit may be better suited to a traditional family occasion.

Make Festive Dressing Your Own

There is something special about ethnic festive wear because it carries familiar elements of Indian dressing while leaving plenty of room for individual style. You can keep things traditional or mix in modern pieces, both can work.

If you're looking for festive clothing for ladies, Lakshita’s collection offers a range of silhouettes that can move between these two styles. Choose a kurta when you want something easy, a coordinated set when you want a complete look, or a more detailed suit when the occasion calls for it. And if you're still deciding what to wear this season, start with the piece you genuinely like rather than trying to follow a particular festive trend. A good outfit is one you'll want to wear again.
